About Forestle
Forestle is an
independent nonprofit website. All of our income (minus administrative costs) goes to our partner organization
The Nature Conservancy, which will use this money in their "adopt an acre" program for sustainable protection of the rainforests.
Forestle was launched in August 2008. Our administrative costs are less than 5% of our income. Check back soon for more information about our finances. We pledge to keep Forestle transparent and will post financial reports here.
Forestle is run in partnership with Yahoo. If you prefer to have Google search results instead of Yahoo results, we recomend to use the eco-friendly search engine www.Znout.org.
Each Google search consumes about as much energy as a light bulb in one hour. Znout basically works like Google, but the green search engine sets off the environmental footprint caused because of the internet searches, by buying renewable energy certificates.
